10 Early Warning Signs That You Need A Plumber

There are all sorts of different plumbing problems that need the attention of a plumber, from leaky pipes to water pressure issues. Some cheap and easy to repair; others costly. Whatever the problem, it's easier to fix, and cheaper, if you can identify the problem at an early stage.  Here are our 10 early warning signs that you need to call a plumber...

1. Smelly Drains

Obviously, in your kitchen or bathroom there are plenty of things that can cause your drain to smell. However, if your drain smells continuously and for a long period of time it could be an warning that your sewer line is blocked or damaged.

 

 

2. Noisy Loo

You toilet should be quiet most of the time, unless you've  just flushed it, so if you hear gurgling noises coming from your loo, it could be a sign that there's a problem with the

 

 

3. High Water Bills

Obviously, during some months you may use more water, for example on your garden during the summer. However, if you have an unexplained rise in your water bill when you aren't expecting it then it could be a sign that something is wrong. Get a plumber in to investigate and check for leaks in your system.

 

4. Low Water Pressure

There can be a lot of reasons for low water pressure, some to do with your boiler, some to do with your taps, but it could also be caused by clogged pipes. If your water pressure is low, call Leeva to investigate the problem.

 

 

5. Rattling Pipes

We know it's coming up to Halloween, so perhaps that rattling in your pipes is down to some seasonal spooky goings on.  However, there are other possible causes.  If you hear your pipes rattling, call us to investigate. It could be anything from poorly secured pipes to air locks in your plumbing system.

 

 

6. Peeling Bathroom Walls

If you have seen the wallpaper or paint peeling in your bathroom you should get this investigated by a plumber before patching it up. It's possible that the peeling is being caused by a leak.

 

 

7. Mouldy Walls

8. Slow Drainage

Slow draining sinks, showers or bathtubs are not unusual. Individual drains can get easily blocked by things like soap scum or hair. 9. Toilet Always Clogged?

Toilets clog. It's a messy fact of life. But they shouldn't clog too often. If your toilet is clogging regularly then there could be an underlying problem with the main sewer line.

 

 

 

 

10. Ceiling Spots

If you notice brown spots on your ceiling then chances are there's water above it. So before you go to the expense of painting or even plastering, you should get a plumber to investigate and locate the source of the leak.
